The card failed and the gift stopped. Probably worth a call.
Example
Most pastors don't look at the giving records. We understand why.
You don't want to know who gives what, because you don't want it to change how you treat anyone. So the records sit with the bookkeeper, and nobody reads them for what they also are: the earliest sign that a family is pulling away.
We think that's a pastoral question more than a financial one, and we wrote the report to be read that way.
From a first read
Three things your giving records already know.
41of 312 families
Have stopped giving since spring.
Regular givers for years. No one on staff has heard why.
Sorted by who's most likely to come back
9families
Had a card expire.
The gift stopped that week. Nobody called them, so most of them don't know.
The easiest calls you'll make all year
38%of the budget
Comes from six families.
Worth knowing their names before one of them takes a job in another city.
So the budget meeting never surprises you
Example figures from a church of 312 giving families. Yours will be different.
How it works
One export from your giving software, and one call with us.
1
Send us an export.
From Planning Center, Bloomerang, or whatever you use. If we haven't connected to your system before, we'll do that part.
2
We read it.
Every gift and every household, going back as far as your records do.
3
We walk through it together.
About an hour. You leave with a list of names and a first call to make.
What you receive
Every quarter, a letter your board can read.
The charts are in the platform if you want them. The letter is the part you'll actually read.
Giving at Larkfield Hill Church is up 3% on last year. Here is what's underneath that.
41 households have stopped giving since spring, and 9 of those stopped the week a card expired. Six households now give 38% of the budget, up from 31% two years ago.
Start with the nine expired cards. Those families didn't leave. Most of them don't know the gift stopped.
Why you can trust the read
No black box.
Every number comes with the method behind it, written in plain English, and the range of error.
